Memorial Hall of Founding of Yilan Administration

The Memorial Hall Founding of Yilan Administration was originally the official residence for the local mayor during the Japanese occupation era. It has witnessed 100 years of evolving Yilan politics, making it a building with historical significance. Its design integrates elements of Japanese wooden houses with classical Western architecture, exhibiting a fusion of Japanese and Western styles. A century-old camphor tree is preserved in the elegant Japanese garden. This is also an important reason why the Yilan County government maintains the building. After expert planning and repairs, the old residence for government officials was transformed into a new splendor and became a great place for the public to learn about Yilan’s history and socio-cultural context.
